Company Background
WHY ARE YOU CALLED SPRING DESIGN PARTNERS?
Ron Wong, our founder, created Spring Design Partners on the first day of Spring in 1995. He didn't want to name the firm after himself (too vain!) so he looked up the word "Spring" in the dictionary and this is what he found:

To move forward or upward

To come into existence: arise

To move quickly and with resilience

An origin or source

Ron thought this was an appropriate description of the kind of brand design and company culture he wanted to create – thus Spring Design Partners was born. It is a definition we strive to live up to every day.

WHAT IS SPRING DESIGN PARTNERS?

Spring Design Partners is an independently owned, creatively driven brand design consultancy that leverages design as a strategic business tool. Ron Wong, a 35-year brand design veteran, founded the company in 1995 with the goal of returning to the personal and passionate side of design – to find brand truths and express them with elegance and simplicity.

Located in New York City, we are a team of 35 professionals each of whom is passionately dedicated to the design discipline. The company is a certified minority owned business.

Great question! Because our Design InsightTM approach is intended to expand thinking, we often find ourselves going deeper with our client partners than what was originally intended. So our involvement may grow from visual strategy development, to consumer experience design, to the crafting of new environments, to activation programs for local markets.

First we listen. Then we look – at everything about your brand. Then, we apply Design InsightTM to consider the possibilities. Where can the brand go? Where do you want it to go? How do we get there? To help us answer those questions and develop successful strategies, we employ proprietary techniques such Design InsightTM Research.
WHAT IS DESIGN INSIGHT?

Design InsightTM is our unique approach to developing visual strategies. This proprietary approach utilizes the discipline of design to identify insights, define opportunities and articulate design solutions. Unlike "design process" which is linear, rigid and "one-size-fits-all," Design InsightTM is driven by design philosophy, with organic, flexible and customized methodologies to meet your objectives.

WHAT IS DESIGN INSIGHT RESEARCH?
Design InsightTM Research is a proprietary pre-design research methodology developed by Spring Design Partners that combines traditional qualitative and/or ethnographic research with projective visualization and semiotic analysis to uncover insights that can lead visual strategy development.
