I hate to admit it, but my credit card got a lot of mileage this weekend. It also got a lot of attention.
And, it demonstrated the power of design when it is leveraged as a strategic tool.
On two separate occasions, the cashier checking me out commented on my card, the Chase Sapphire Card, "how do you like it?" and "I think I need to get that card!" The mere visual presence of my card stopped the transaction, changed the dynamic of our interaction, and potentially created two new users. Who would have thought a tiny, little card could wield the power of design?
